Job Summary
Assembly Supervisor I - 1st Shift oversees a team on a medium/high voltage manufacturing assembly line, ensuring safety, quality, on-time delivery, and efficiency. Responsibilities include supervising a manufacturing assembly line, reading and interpreting prints, troubleshooting electrical devices using wiring diagrams and schematics, maintaining 6S practices, coordinating production planning and manpower, developing production reports, and driving continuous improvement with cross-functional teams. Requires strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills, with experience in high-volume production settings and knowledge of quality control standards, lean practices, and regulatory awareness (OSHA/EPA).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, as well as five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership responsibility
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, electrical schematics, safety rules, and instructions for assembly, procedures, and maintenance. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as in a group.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with three years of experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership responsibility or high school diploma or GED with seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive leadership responsibility
- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing software.
- Lean / Continuous Improvement experience (Green Belt preferred)
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Electrical experience
- Running a production line in a fast-paced environment
