Job Summary
Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Assembly at Mission Critical Group leads assembly of sheet metal control house components, providing hands-on guidance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement while mentoring teammates and collaborating with training and cross-functional groups to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety on the production floor. Responsibilities include serving as the primary technical resource for assembly processes, guiding layout, measurement, and marking, proposing process/tool/workflow improvements, diagnosing and reducing rework, onboarding and training assemblers, contributing to work instructions and SOPs with the training team, promoting skill development and cross-training, enforcing safety practices, ensuring compliance with fabrication/assembly standards, coordinating with engineering, quality, and production planning, pursuing lean and 5S initiatives, and occasionally working in other plant areas. Requirements include a High school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in manufacturing or assembly, reading blueprints/drawings/technical instructions, and the ability to train others; welding/fabrication experience is a plus and forklift experience is desirable. The role is based in Abilene, TX in-person, with a fast-paced production environment and emphasis on safety and quality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly
- Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions
- Ability to train and mentor others in a production setting
- Comfortable working at heights and on ladders up to 10 feet
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness
