Job Summary
Assemble components, subassemblies, and finished products according to specifications and work instructions. Read blueprints, assembly drawings, and verbal instructions while using hand and power tools to position and fasten parts. Inspect completed assemblies for defects and maintain a clean, safe work area. Collaborate with supervisors to support workflow and meet daily production goals while following all safety policies. Requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and willingness to work overtime. Join the Hill & Smith manufacturing team designing transportation safety equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Manual dexterity to safely operate hand and power tools
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions
- Willingness to work overtime as business needs require
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of manufacturing or assembly experience
- Experience using tape measures and a variety of hand and power tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Heavy industrial assembly experience
