Job Summary
Assembly SME to support sheet metal control house assembly with hands-on technical support, mentoring, training-resource development with the training department, collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve accuracy, efficiency, and safety, and occasional coverage of Leads/Supervisors during vacations/absences. Primary responsibilities include serving as the technical resource for assembly processes, guiding assemblers on layout and measurements, recommending process improvements, troubleshooting complex issues, onboarding new assemblers, contributing to work instructions/SOPs/visual aids, mentoring teammates, upholding safety and PPE standards, and collaborating with engineering, quality, and production planning to ensure smooth workflows and lean initiatives. Occasional work in other plant areas is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly (required)
- Prior experience in sheet metal fabrication and control house assembly (preferred)
- Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical instructions
- Welding and fabrication experience (a plus)
- Forklift certification or experience (desired)
- Ability to train and mentor others in a production setting
- Comfortable working at heights and on ladders up to 10 feet
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness
