Assembly Mechanic Swing Shift

Job Summary

Read and interpret work orders, aerospace blueprints, and drawings to determine parts requirements and assembly sequences. Prepare part surfaces, apply adhesives and lubricants, and fasten components using nuts, bolts, screws, and rivets. Operate hand tools and machinery such as drill presses and presses to perform assembly operations. Install bushings and bearings, use precision measuring tools to verify fit, and perform functional testing. Handle finished parts with care to prevent damage and meet established productivity and quality standards while supporting ISO 9001/AS9100 compliance. Work 10-hour swing shifts (3:50pm–2:20am) with a requirement to train during first shift hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business language, technical procedures, aerospace blueprints and drawings, manuals, governmental regulations, and safety procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or listen.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for at least 10 hours a day.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Must contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for supporting and ensuring compliance to ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
