Assembly Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary
Oversee and optimize assembly manufacturing processes within the Assembly operation. Collaborate with product design, fabrication, tooling, and materials; drive continuous process improvements; manage both manual and automated assembly operations; lead cross-functional teams using Six Sigma/8D methodologies; design layouts and tooling using Autodesk; plan production times, staffing, and costs; ensure equipment availability and capability on the shop floor; participate in PFMEA and Kaizen activities; mentor manufacturing engineers and interns in the Assembly-focused factory.
Required Qualifications
- BSME/BSMET required
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a high mix/low volume and low mix/high volume manufacturing required
- Process development, control and improvement experience required
- Strong understanding of GD&T and working in tight tolerances (.0001)
- 3-5 years of practical Kaizen experience preferred
- Practical Six Sigma experience preferred
- Experience with controls, including proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, and programming input/output (I/O) is a plus
- Superior computer skills, with experience in Autodesk 3-D design software a plus
