Job Summary

Perform transformer assembly, hook-up, and disassembly activities according to established procedures and work orders. Assist with shipping, receiving, and staging of transformers, components, tools, and materials in an outdoor tool yard. Connect, disconnect, remove, install, and handle transformer components using basic hand tools and approved equipment. Inspect materials for visible damage and verify them against documentation. Maintain an organized and safe outdoor work area while navigating uneven surfaces and moving vehicles. This physically demanding role requires working outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and dust. Candidates must lift up to 50 pounds, wear steel-toe safety shoes, and follow all safety policies. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm, with flexibility for occasional weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet applicable client background-check, drug screening requirements.
  • Stable and dependable work history.
  • Ability to learn and safely use basic hand tools and equipment.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the assigned shift.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
  • Must be comfortable working in dusty, dirty, muddy, wet, hot, and cold conditions.
  • Steel-toe safety shoes or boots are required.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to work in a primarily standing or physically active position for the majority of the assigned shift.
  • Must be able to frequently reach outward and above shoulder level.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, and occasionally crawl as required to access transformer components.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive pushing, pulling, gripping, handling, and tool-use activities.
  • Must be able to use upper and lower extremities to move, carry, push, pull, drag, or otherwise transport materials generally weighing between 25 and 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend the body downward and forward at the waist and knees to access equipment and materials.
  • Must be able to maintain balance and body control while standing, walking, bending, or crouching on outdoor and potentially uneven work surfaces.
  • Must be able to safely navigate dusty, wet, muddy, or uneven tool-yard conditions.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in hot, cold, sunny, windy, rainy, dusty, wet, and muddy conditions.
  • Must be able to safely wear steel-toe footwear and all other required PPE for the duration of the assigned shift.
  • Must be able to possess sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely use basic hand tools and handle transformer components.
  • Must be flexible to work occasional weekends to meet project deadlines.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in transformer assembly, manufacturing, industrial assembly, mechanical work, equipment repair, shipping/receiving, or a similar industrial position.
  • Previous experience working in an outdoor industrial yard, tool yard, equipment yard, or similar environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and previous experience using basic hand tools.
  • Knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn the safe use of basic mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Experience assembling or disassembling mechanical or electrical equipment.
  • Previous shipping, receiving, material-handling, or warehouse experience.
  • Basic welding knowledge or experience is beneficial.
  • Welding training or a recognized welding certificate is preferred for assignments requiring welding-related responsibilities.
  • Experience reading and following work orders, production instructions, or basic technical documentation.
