Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift meetings and delegate daily work assignments to probationary and regular full-time employees. Execute scheduled work orders, resolve production and safety issues, and expedite orders through the manufacturing process. Complete production, scrap, and rework reports while providing input on disciplinary evaluations and employee advancement. Train staff, maintain training records, and administer the safety program for the assigned area. Assist the supervisor in incident investigations and act as the First Responder for the Plant. Record daily attendance and submit payroll reports. This role supports the department supervisor in achieving daily and monthly goals in safety, quality, accuracy, and production within a multiple site manufacturer of oil, gas, and nuclear equipment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in manufacturing / production environment
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in Assembly and/or Controls
- Basic computer skills – MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with management and other employees to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability to support, promote, and adhere to the Westerman philosophy and Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills
- Previous leadership experience
- Basic ability to troubleshoot production/personnel issues
- First Aid/CPR Training
- Emergency Response Training
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift (10 – 12 hours)
- Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work
- Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds
- Must have a strong range of motion
- Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend repetitively
- Must be able to see, speak, read, and hear
- Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices
- Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts
- Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE
- Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds
- Must be physically able to crawl in and out of vessels
- Must have close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to operate required tools safely
