Job Summary
Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings to assemble prefabricated components using basic hand tools and accurate tape measure reading. Apply carpentry and auto mechanic skills while climbing ladders as needed, following written and verbal instructions. Maintain plant safety protocols and clean work environments while demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude for lifting up to 50 lbs. Assist in related departments depending on production and shipping demands. This role supports a growing manufacturing team at a client in Batavia, Ohio, within the trak group.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or shop drawings
- Experience in an industrial or construction setting
- Flexibility to assist in other related departments depending on production and shipping demands
- Proficient use of basic hand tools
- Accurate tape measure reading
- Basic carpentry and/or Auto mechanic skills
- Ability to climb ladders as needed
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic understanding of plumbing, NPT and JIC
- Basic understanding of Blueprint Reading
- Strong mechanical aptitude and dexterity
- Comfortable lifting/maneuvering up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending
- Detail-oriented with emphasis on quality and consistency
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Commitment to plant safety protocols and clean work environment
- Trade school experience, other apprenticeship experience, or on-the-job experience in related field or industry
- Pass background check and drug test
- Demonstrate ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure
