Job Summary
Lead daily manufacturing operations for laser component and subassembly production by developing schedules, monitoring metrics like yield and throughput, and ensuring efficient resource utilization. Manage supervisors and engineers while driving root cause analysis for quality issues and implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives. Establish performance objectives, conduct reviews, and support workforce development through training and succession planning. Maintain a safe work environment compliant with OSHA standards and ISO quality systems. Utilize KPI data to drive decision-making and support automation improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related technical discipline
- 7+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Experience in precision assembly, optics, photonics, laser systems, electronics, or similar high-tech manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and manufacturing operations
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing reporting tools
- All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in laser, photonics, optical assembly, fiber optics, or electro-optical component manufacturing
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
- Knowledge of cleanroom manufacturing operations
- Strong engineering background with a solid understanding of laser crystals and laser assemblies
- Hands-on experience with laser alignment and crystal assembly processes
