Job Summary
Assemble heavy-duty wooden mats according to production specifications using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment to position, align, secure, and inspect wood components. Install bolts, rods, cables, nails, or other required hardware while verifying finished products meet quality and customer requirements. Inspect lumber and completed mats for defects, damage, incorrect measurements, or improper assembly. Maintain an organized and safe work area, report equipment problems, and follow all company safety policies and personal protective equipment guidelines. Work cooperatively with machine operators and supervisors while adhering to production schedules and daily productivity expectations. Perform additional production-related duties as assigned in an industrial lumber-production environment.

- Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic measurements and production instructions
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions
- Strong attention to quality and detail
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team
- Willingness to learn different tasks within the Mats Department
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, push, and pull
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to safely handle tools, hardware, lumber, and production materials
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
- Must be able to work around moving equipment and industrial machinery
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety-toe footwear, and other equipment as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, lumber production, assembly, or a related field is preferred
- Experience using hand and power tools is helpful
