Job Summary
Assemble components for the SGL CARBON TECHNIC product line, including heat exchangers, tube sheets, headers, baffles, trays, and cylinders. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, working drawings, and dimensional specifications while using measuring equipment such as micrometers, gauges, and torque wrenches. Perform standard shop mathematics and maintain tools and equipment. Work with little supervision as part of a team, communicating technical issues to staff, management, and the engineering group. Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending. Requires a high school diploma, three years of fabrication facility experience, and safety training background.
Required Qualifications
- Strong blue-print reading skills
- experience in working with basic tooling (i.e.. torque wrenches) and measuring equipment (i.e. micrometers, gauges)
- Good communication skills with the other assemblers, machinists, and engineering group
- Ability to do standard shop mathematics
- Ability to read and understand all facets of detailed blueprints
- Ability to read and understand required measuring equipment such as micrometers, gauges, torque wrenches
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to follow working detail drawings as designed
- Safety conscious with safety training background
- High School diploma
- 3 years of experience in a fabrication facility
- Ability to work with little supervision as part of a team
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with others regarding technical issues
- Ability to work with shop, management, and technical personnel
- Ability to communicate drawing and dimensional issues to staff and employees
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and pc file management
- lift up to 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience with pressurized equipment and welded vessels
