Job Summary
Assemble and wire electrical systems in Powell’s Electrical Assembly department as a Wireperson, interpreting point-to-point wiring diagrams, blueprints, and master copies. Tasks include using hand tools (crimpers, strippers, torquing/calibrating tools), running and bundling wires per Powell standards, laying out and installing devices, terminating CTs, and wiring for MCC, SWGR, and harnesses. Maintain safety and cleanliness, participate in safety meetings, inspect work in-process, and collaborate with electricians and technicians to ensure electrical system integrity. Requires reading schematics, basic English proficiency, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs; prior basic computing knowledge and calibration understanding are a plus. Four 10s schedule (Monday-Thursday 4:30am-3:00pm) in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment with PPE and potential ladders/scaffolding use.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred
- Ability to read and understand point-to-point wiring diagrams
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Safely use variety of hand/power tools
- Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques
