Job Summary
Assemble machines, equipment, and sub-assemblies using Lean and 5S methodologies by following blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Perform minor layout work, drilling, tapping, and removing small quantities of metal to clean parts or ensure close fit. Align components and secure them with bolts, screws, and rivets while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Requires attendance during regularly scheduled shifts, ability to read prints, and use of small hand-power tools. Must stand, walk, carry up to 50 lbs., and climb stairs. Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- 1-2 Years Experience in manufacturing or job shop environment
- Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometry
- Ability to read and understand prints and schematics
- Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to read a tape measurer
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Completing a job within the requested time frame
- This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing
