Job Summary
Perform repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs by placing parts in specified relationships and fastening them with bolts, clips, screws, or cement. Cut products to specific measurements and tend machines for force fitting or fastening on the assembly line. Remove defective products as needed and work at different stations as production requirements dictate. Clean equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures. This entry-level role requires no prior experience, though carpentry skills are helpful. Candidates must regularly stand, walk, and lift up to 100 pounds while operating in environments with moving mechanical parts, loud noise, and exposure to extreme weather.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Verbal expression ability to effectively present information, in both individual and small group situations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to read tape measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Prior carpentry experience helpful
