Assembler III- 2nd shift

Job Summary
Oversee assembly line operations by leading team members, troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components, and utilizing diagrams to perform repairs. Position and fasten subassemblies including wires, hoses, instrument panels, doors, and underbodies while routing harnesses through the facility. Complete function testing, support validation checks, and serve as the first line of defense for quality by observing components and driving defects back to the point of origin. Cross-train team members across multiple sub-stations and maintain a safe, clean work environment compliant with 5S standards. Lead, coach, and inspire peers to ensure efficient operations and adherence to standard work instructions.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3+ years' experience in automotive manufacturing
- Previous assembly experience
- Advanced computer, math, and reading skills
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment and processes
- Ability to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly
- Ability to communicate with leadership and fellow team members in both written and verbal forms at a level above standard
- Must be team oriented
- Ability to effectively lead, coach, inspire, develop, and motivate teams
- Ability to lead assembly team members by overseeing assembly line(s)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
- Ability to review and utilize all electrical and hydraulic diagrams to perform repairs identified during the troubleshooting process
- Ability to cross-train assembly team members to perform assemblies at multiple sub-stations
- Ability to position and fasten subassemblies through torquing, assembling components such as, wires, hoses, instrument panels, doors, handles, and underbodies
- Ability to route all harnesses through facility
- Ability to use manipulators and tools with standard work instructions
- Ability to complete function testing and support validation checks
- Ability to serve as first line of defense by observing components through ongoing quality checks
- Ability to assist in driving back defects to the point of origin along with identifying and assisting in implementation of corrective action(s)
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and proper 5S standards
- Ability to use best practices to follow all safe procedures in assembling and testing of models/products in assigned job function
- Ability to certify
- Ability to stand, walk/running, sit, reach, hear, talk, see, type
- Ability to climb, drive, bend/kneel, hear, talk, see, use fine dexterity, use manual dexterity
- Ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to push/pull up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to perform under pressure and within fast-paced environments
- Ability to be punctual and meet work attendance and deadline requirements
- Ability to exert influence through direction and guidance
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or certification program in equivalent field
- Four years' experience as an assembler (preferably in automotive industry)
- Previous leadership experience
