Job Summary
Assemble components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, and specifications to build, test, and finish parts that meet quality standards. Complete assembly checklists, monitor stock bins, and report inventory needs to the Shop Floor Lead. Operate hand and pneumatic tools while adhering to safety procedures and the Wabtec Code of Conduct. Work unsupervised on the production shop floor from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance. Report directly to the Production Supervisor and Plant Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic math skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively unsupervised
- Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions
- Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed
- Read, write, and communicate in English
- Vision abilities include close and distance vision, color distinction, and observe small handwriting, labels, and components
- Wabtec Code of Conduct
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)
- Successful completion of a fitness for duty test (as applicable)
- On-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities
- Daily face-to-face interaction and communication with employees on production line and management
- Steel toed shoes
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection in designated areas
- 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday
- Overtime hours may be available or even required according to business needs and within the parameters of any applicable federal/state laws
- Hourly rate in the range of $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
- Annual bonus, if eligible
