Job Summary
Assembler I at Oshkosh/JLG facilities responsible for safely assembling equipment by following detailed instructions from Supervisors and Group Leaders. Activities include assembling parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics on JLG/Jerr-Dan products using power and manual tools; installing decals, mud flaps, cameras, and lights; operating an overhead crane to position parts; using hand and pneumatic tools with accuracy; measuring with tape measures; drilling and tapping holes for wires/hoses/components; identifying required options from schematics/blueprints/Standard Work Instructions; lifting/subassembling up to 60 lbs with team lift; cross-training across multiple assembly areas; maintaining a clean, safe workspace in compliance with 6S and safety rules; and following written and verbal instructions to meet quality standards. The role is based in a manufacturing/production environment and may involve exposure to loud noise, dust, moving machinery, and temperature fluctuations, with PPE as required.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months of experience in the manufacturing or general labor industry
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business and production demands
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in-person and on-site
- Standing for extended periods and ability to lift up to 35 pounds solo (up to 60 pounds team lift) and push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
- Visual and auditory acuity for safe operation in a noisy environment
- Use of power tools and manual tools for assembly
- Ability to read schematics/blueprints/Standard Work Instructions
