Job Summary
Assemble and disassemble gas turbine components and subassemblies following established work instructions, drawings, and specifications. Interpret technical documentation to complete assigned tasks, position, fit, fasten, and torque components using hand and power tools, hoists, and cranes. Perform basic mechanical and electrical assembly, including wiring connections and conduit work, while verifying alignment and quality with standard measuring devices. Operate material-moving equipment such as forklifts and cranes, identify routine machining issues, and contribute to team problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Take ownership of compliance, safety, and productivity in your area of responsibility. This 3rd shift role is based at the Greenville Gas Turbine site, where you will support the global mission of building advanced gas turbine technology.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or electrical assembly experience using hand tools, power tools, and standard assembly equipment
- Experience following work instructions, drawings, diagrams, schematics, or assembly documentation to complete standardized work
- Basic experience installing, fastening, fitting, or routing mechanical and/or electrical components in a production or manufacturing environment
- Must be capable and comfortable working in confined spaces and working at heights
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Successful completion of an assessment for the job class, background check, and drug screen
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with gas turbine, heavy industrial, power generation, or large equipment assembly
- Experience with mechanical/electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with cranes, hoists, lifts, or other industrial material-handling equipment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety and quality
