Job Summary
Assemble electrical gear, enclosures, frames, and component subassemblies according to mechanical drawings, bills of material, and work instructions. Install electrical components such as breakers, contactors, relays, and transformers while verifying correct placement and orientation prior to wiring. Perform visual inspections to ensure assemblies meet design specifications and escalate discrepancies to engineering. Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to support ISO audits and maintain clean work areas in accordance with 5S standards. Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and proper tool usage, while ensuring compliance with OSHA, UL, and other regulatory requirements. Complete required production documentation and checklists accurately and timely.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in mechanical or electrical assembly in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, layout drawings, and bills of material (BOMs)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment safely
- Ability to lift, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear or control panel assembly
- Familiarity with NEC, UL 508A, or similar electrical standards
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work from detailed work instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with electrical components and panel layouts
