Job Summary

Perform assigned assembly tasks for subassemblies or completed assemblies, preparing components by cleaning, marking, and inspecting them before assembly. Operate assigned equipment including Die Attach Machines, Wire Bonders, and X-Ray machines, and utilize a microscope for up to eight hours daily. Test finished assemblies and cross-train on at least one process within the cell while participating in team meetings for improvement. Maintain a clean assembly area, adhere to OSHA safety procedures, and complete job-related company training courses to support Business System initiatives. Be flexible to work overtime and perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-5+ years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language
  • Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)
  • Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required
  • Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity
  • Adept hand eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness
  • Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume setting
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • US person eligibility (due to ITAR requirements)
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to push up to 40 pounds
  • Must be willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the 2nd shift position from 2:00pm - 10:30pm
  • Must be able to operate assigned equipment and machinery (i.e.-Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray machines)
  • Must be able to operate a Microscope (up to 8 hours a day)
  • Must observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals
  • Must be able to identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process
  • Must be able to participate in cleaning of area and machinery
  • Must be able to take part in team meetings for improvement
  • Must practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy
  • Must be able to cross-train to work on at least one process within the cell
  • Must be able to complete job-related company training courses
  • Must be able to support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, and other initiatives as they arise
  • Must be able to understand and/or participate with internal/external audits
  • Must be able to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies if required
  • Must be able to work in a Class 7 or 8 Cleanroom, or general manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to use safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • Must be able to handle unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Must be able to stand for 25% of the work time
  • Must be able to sit for 75% of the work time
