Job Summary
Perform assigned assembly tasks on subassemblies or completed assemblies, preparing components by cleaning, marking, and inspecting them before assembly. Operate assigned equipment including Die Attach Machines, Wire Bonders, and X-Ray machines, and utilize a microscope for up to 8 hours daily. Test finished assemblies and identify and report any difficulties affecting work correctness. Observe health and safety procedures for hazardous chemicals and participate in area cleaning, team meetings, and cross-training initiatives. Complete job-related company training courses and support CBS initiatives such as 5S and Standard Work.
Required Qualifications
- 1-5+ years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language
- Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)
- Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required
- Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity
- Adept hand eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness
- Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams
- Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume setting
- High School diploma or equivalent
- US person eligibility (required for controlled data access and ITAR compliance)
- Ability to work in a Class 7 or 8 Cleanroom or general manufacturing environment
- Ability to use safety equipment including eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- Ability to be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Ability to stand 25% of the time
- Ability to sit 75% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to push up to 40 pounds
- Ability to operate a Microscope for up to 8 hours a day
- Ability to observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals
- Ability to identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process
- Ability to participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement
- Ability to practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy
- Ability to cross-train to work on at least one process within the cell
- Ability to complete job-related company training courses
- Ability to support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, and other initiatives as they arise
- Ability to work overtime if necessary
- Ability to perform assigned assembly tasks on subassemblies or completed assemblies
- Ability to prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components
- Ability to test finished assemblies
- Ability to operate assigned equipment and machinery (i.e.-Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray machines)
- Ability to participate with internal/external audits
- Ability to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
- Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
- Ability to participate in a random drug test pool (for FAA sensitive positions)
