Job Summary
Create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth while establishing effective rapport with students, families, and colleagues. Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for a strong academic foundation by mastering district curriculum objectives. Complete Tulsa Way Saturday and asynchronous Tulsa Way Academy training, including science of reading instruction and district-provided professional development. Maintain proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office Suite. Must hold an associate degree or be within 36 hours of a bachelor's degree with two years of instructional experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or within 36 hours of a bachelor's degree
- Two (2) years of demonstrated full-time work in an instructional or supervisory role
- Successful experience as a classroom teacher
- Must be 21 years of age
- Meet all district employment requirements, including but not limited to references, background check review, and drug screening
- Complete application and pay fee for adjunct teaching status once recommended by the district
- Required to complete 20 hours of Tulsa Way Saturday and asynchronous Tulsa Way Academy training
- Required to attend training in the science of reading
- Required to attend professional development provided by the district
- Complete a degree or receive an Oklahoma teaching certificate within five (5) years unless additional time is granted by petition
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
