Job Summary
Drive a Class A CDL tanker truck delivering liquid asphalt across the Greater Philadelphia Region, adhering to FMCSA and H&K Safety policies. Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain truck logs per state and federal regulations, and handle loading and unloading operations. Prepare receipts for loads picked up and maintain radio or telephone contact with supervisors for delivery instructions. Work a second shift schedule, frequently exceeding 40 hours weekly, while meeting physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds and operating in outdoor weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Class A CDL
- Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement for liquid asphalt
- One year of commercial driving experience
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Able and willing to work a 2nd shift schedule
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
- 3+ years of commercial driving experience
- TWIC card
- Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or other outdoor industrial setting
- Strong preference for asphalt plant and/or heavy road construction experience
- OSHA or other relevant safety certification
