Asphalt Plant Superintendent

Job Summary
Oversees daily operation and production of asphalt plants, supervising 6-8 facilities and supporting aggregate sites. Leads safety initiatives in line with OSHA/MSHA regulations, develops and implements BMPs and asphalt mix designs, and coordinates material testing to ensure compliance with specifications. Manages supply chain, budgeting, and cost control, coordinates production schedules, plant maintenance, and resources, and directs site operations to ensure on-time delivery. Leads recruiting and training programs, collaborates with land resources for permits, and oversees subcontractors. Travel locally/regionally as needed; requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- BS in engineering or similar field (plus)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel locally and regionally
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- 3+ years experience in asphalt industry (preferred)
- Experience with HCSS HeavyJob and HeavyBid software (preferred)
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software (preferred)
- Experience in planning, scheduling, and supervising production shifts (preferred)
- Prior experience managing subcontractors (preferred)
