Asphalt Plant Operator

Job Summary
Operate and monitor asphalt plant equipment to ensure proper production and quality of materials while performing routine inspections and maintenance. Follow all safety protocols and regulatory procedures to maintain a clean, hazard-free environment and identify mechanical issues for timely repairs. Monitor material specifications, temperature, and mix design to meet required standards, oversee raw material levels, and coordinate with suppliers. Maintain accurate daily logs of operations, production quantities, and maintenance activities. Work closely with supervisors, truck drivers, and paving crews to ensure efficient delivery. This role requires previous experience with heavy equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Functions essential to this position include but are not limited to standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking and lifting heavy objects (50 pounds) during the course of the work day
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience operating an asphalt plant or similar heavy equipment is preferred
