Job Summary
Asphalt Plant Operator responsible for controlling heating, drying, and mixing of ingredients to produce quality hot mix asphalt paving materials; monitor readings on the computer panel and adjust equipment (screens/conveyors) to maintain product specifications; inspect machinery for safety and maintenance needs; ensure stockpiles are well stocked; follow safety and environmental procedures; collaborate with the Operations Manager to determine staffing and maintenance timing; discharge tonnage safely into customer trucks; assist with repairs as needed; helpful for applicants with experience in asphalt plant operations, loaders, and related machinery; military veterans encouraged to apply; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment
- Ability to follow safety and environmental procedures
- Knowledge of asphalt plant equipment and production process (a plus)
- Knowledge of materials and specification requirements
- Basic computer skills
- Mechanical, welding and fabrication skills
- Able to work as a team member
- Strong communication, leadership skills
