Asphalt Plant Mechanic/Welder

Job Summary
Operate and inspect asphalt plants to diagnose defects, dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools, and weld broken parts. Analyze malfunctions and repairs by reading repair manuals while examining parts for damage or excessive wear. Test overhauled equipment to ensure efficient operation and direct team members during cleaning, assembly, and disassembly of belts and parts. Serve as a safety ambassador by identifying hazards and enforcing safe work practices in an outdoor construction environment. Requires eight-hour shifts with constant physical effort, lifting up to 150 pounds, and working at heights up to 60 feet.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry related experience
- emphasis on Asphalt Plant Operations
- Must be able to understand work directions
- communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
- demonstrable previous experience as an Asphalt Plant Mechanic
- Must be fluent in English
- speak, read and write English
- valid driver's license
- clean motor-vehicle record
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- background check
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- CDL license
