Asphalt Plant Manager

Job Summary
Supervise day-to-day operations and asphalt production at multiple plant facilities, directing activities for both internal and external customers. Promote safe work practices by leading safety meetings, inspections, and compliance efforts while reviewing project requirements for mix design and quality control. Coordinate material testing, production scheduling, maintenance planning, and staffing needs to ensure timely, cost-effective output. Manage material supply, support budgeting and cost tracking, and assist with hiring, onboarding, and training for plant personnel. Secure necessary permits and coordinate general site maintenance while working with subcontractors and internal teams to maintain smooth operations.
Required Qualifications
- Safety‐focused with a willingness to learn OSHA/MSHA requirements and company procedures
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational and time‐management abilities
- Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Mining, Geology or a related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in the asphalt, construction materials, or related industry
- Familiarity with asphalt production operations, safety practices, or quality control
- Experience with HCSS HeavyJob, HeavyBid, AutoCAD, or similar tools
- Prior experience supporting production schedules or supervising teams
- Experience working with subcontractors
