Job Summary
Operate small equipment and hand tools on asphalt paving projects (including milling, paving, and grading) and help maintain job-site cleanliness. Follow company safety policies and procedures, report problems to the Foreman/Superintendent/Safety Manager, and perform routine maintenance on equipment as capable. Provide support to crew members (e.g., shoveling, cleanup) and complete related paperwork. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work a varied schedule (day/night/weekends) due to construction contracts. Will operate and maintain paving equipment (tamper, roller, skid steer experience preferred) and execute site-work tasks with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalency)
- prior relevant job experience
- Valid/Clean Driver’s License
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Ability to work a varied schedule of day shift, night shift, and weekends
- Ability to operate and maintain small paving equipment (tamper, roller, skid steer experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of methods, materials and tools used in typical site work, milling, paving, grading
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
- Post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check
