Asphalt Paving Foreman – Highway/DOT

Job Summary
Direct paving crews and manage daily field production on active DOT and heavy civil projects, including base, binder, and surface courses. Coordinate paving trains, haul trucks, and manpower to maintain continuous production while monitoring mix delivery, mat temperatures, and compaction to ensure compliance. Read plans and specifications to execute work accurately, enforce jobsite safety standards, and manage lane closures or night operations. Track daily production and material yields to support reporting and coordinate closely with the Superintendent on sequencing. Requires 5+ years of asphalt paving experience, DOT background, and ability to work outdoors in active construction environments across Metro Atlanta and Southwest Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of asphalt paving or heavy highway construction experience
- Minimum 2+ years in an Asphalt Paving Foreman or field leadership role
- Strong hands-on experience leading asphalt paving operations on roadway or highway projects
- Deep knowledge of paving equipment including pavers, screeds, rollers, and related compaction systems
- Ability to monitor yields, mat thickness, and quality control requirements without supervision
- DOT experience required
- Proven ability to manage crews, truck flow, and production pressure in real time
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and consistent field execution
- Requires flexibility for day or night shifts depending on DOT schedules and lane closure restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- Georgia DOT experience strongly preferred
