Job Summary
Supervise crews engaged in hotmix paving to achieve production targets that keep jobs on schedule and below estimated cost. Review contract documents, shop drawings, and schematics to determine project scope, materials, and manpower requirements. Plan physical job site layouts, develop work plans for major components, and monitor adherence throughout execution. Monitor weekly labor costs and production rates, take corrective action on cost overruns, and encourage foremen to develop innovative efficiency methods. Inspect all field construction work, point out deficiencies promptly, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local codes. Support foremen on accident prevention, enforce safety regulations, and provide technical guidance on resolving construction problems. Assist in developing baseline schedules and allocating equipment and materials to ensure timely completion. Must work outdoors in all weather conditions and be available for on-call rotation. Requires 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
Required Qualifications
- 10 + years of experience in the heavy civil construction industry
- Requires working outdoors at times in the rain or snow and during cold, warm, and hot temperatures
- Must be able to work on call as needed
- Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices, techniques, and safety standards
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to jobsite safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Consistently practices and promotes safe work behaviors in all work activities.
