Job Summary
Inspect, operate, and maintain plant and mobile equipment including skid steers, front-end loaders, pit trucks, and water trucks. Perform mechanical work and other duties associated with the safe and efficient operation of equipment used to produce hot mix asphalt. Travel within the Minnesota District to all asphalt plants as needed. This full-time seasonal union position requires membership in Local 49 Operating Engineers and involves long hours, weekend work, and climbing heights up to 80+ feet. The role operates 100% in an asphalt plant environment.
Required Qualifications
- Membership in Local 49 Operating Engineers
- Must be 18 years or older
- High-school diploma or equivalent per union requirements
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license and reliable transportation
- 1 + year related experience
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders up to 80+ feet
- Must be able to work at heights up to 80+ feet
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds
- Close vision

- Ability to adjust focus
- 100% of the time in an asphalt plant environment
