Job Summary

Oversee daily operations of ditching, mowing, and construction crews, including scheduling materials, equipment, and personnel for road maintenance and stormwater projects. Supervise and train staff on safety protocols, heavy equipment operation, and vegetation removal while managing work orders and ensuring compliance with regulations. Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and the public to address drainage issues, hazardous tree removal, and road right-of-way maintenance. Operate and maintain machinery such as motor graders, excavators, and slope mowers, while assisting in budget preparation and procurement. Perform administrative duties, including tracking hours, logging check sheets, and managing inventory for road signs and equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • five (5) years of related work experience
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Valid DOT health card
  • Knowledge and experience with tree trimming and removal activities
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate heavy construction trucks and equipment
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology operations
  • Knowledge of the organization's operations, services, and policies
  • Strong maintenance knowledge
  • Knowledge of sediment and erosion control measures
  • Knowledge and ability to work with computers, software programs to include Flexi Pro, and office equipment
  • Knowledge in sign fabrication and installation
  • Knowledge of federal regulations in regard to signage
