Job Summary
Perform ASME code welding on pressure vessels, piping, and structural components using FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW methods. Read engineering drawings, complete weld logs, pass non-destructive testing for pressure-retaining welds, and inspect or repair welds to meet code standards. Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts safely while maintaining high-quality documentation. Requires 2+ years of pressure vessel or pipe welding experience with FCAW proficiency and ability to pass on-site weld qualification testing. Rotating shift operation with overtime opportunities available.
Required Qualifications
- ASME code welding experience
- 2+ years of experience welding pressure vessels or pipe
- FCAW welding skill
- High school diploma or trade school certification
- Ability to pass on-site weld qualification testing
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and documentation
- Ability to use overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts safely
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld procedures
- Ability to complete ASME weld logs and quality documentation
- Ability to pass non-destructive testing (NDT) for pressure-retaining welds
- Ability to inspect and repair welds to meet code and quality standards
