Job Summary
Conduct accurate American Sign Language interpretation for government contracts with the Department of Education, FDA, GSA, IRS, NASA, NRC, and TSA. Provide on-site and VRI services while adhering to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct and understanding Deaf culture. Maintain fluent ASL and spoken English skills, pass the company interpreting skills assessment, and complete a background check for which you receive $150 compensation upon final approval. This 1099 contract role offers assignment flexibility, online scheduling, and competitive rates paid on the 1st and 15th. Candidates must be 18 years or older; three years of professional experience and RID certification are preferable.
Required Qualifications
- On site and VRI capability
- Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills
- Able to provide accurate interpretation
- Understanding of Deaf culture
- Thorough knowledge of and adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
- As applicable, state licensure or state-required credentials
- Must pass the company's interpreting skills assessment
- You must be 18 years or older to apply
- Background check is required
Desired Qualifications
- Three years of professional ASL interpreting experience and RID certified is preferable
- Three to five years of experience in interpreting (preferred but not required)
