Job Summary
Provide direct interpreting services in classroom instruction, small group settings, school activities, and meetings using American Sign Language or Signed Exact English. Facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and staff while collaborating with general education teachers, special education personnel, and families. Participate in IEP meetings to support communication access in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Earn $48–$50 per hour with medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits. Applications accepted through August 31st, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Must meet South Carolina requirements for educational interpreters
- National certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
- Minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Passing score on the EIPA Written Test (EIPA:WT)
