Job Summary
ASL Interpreter for a full-time, school-based role in the Houston area. Provide interpretation between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students and teachers, peers, and school staff to ensure equal access to instruction and activities. Duties include interpreting in classrooms and school settings; assisting with ARD/IEP meetings as needed; maintaining confidentiality per FERPA; collaborating with teachers and campus personnel; supporting student independence and self-advocacy; and maintaining service documentation and schedules. On-site campus assignment with a Monday–Friday schedule; opportunities to support elementary through high school students. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and ASL fluency; Texas BEI or RID certification preferred; prior school-based interpreting experience is a plus.
