Job Summary
Draft, negotiate and execute (including amendments) master derivatives agreements (e.g., ISDA, VM CSA, IM CSA), and handle documentation for OTC derivatives, prime brokerage and stock-lending in Asia ex-Japan. Review client constitutional documents and legal opinions to establish capacity/authority, coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain approvals on deviated terms, manage inquiry responses on ISD documentation, lead projects related to documentation requirements, act as primary point of contact for Asia Pacific clients, and maintain contract databases/systems while coordinating with procurement and legal teams. Role based in Mumbai with responsibility for grooming and developing the local team; requires fast-learning, proactive, self-motivated approach and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Law graduate with relevant 10+ years of experience in financing/derivatives is preferred
- In-house documentation negotiation experience or paralegal experience in corporate law firm is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in English is a must
- Leadership experience and skills
- Strong analytical and negotiation abilities
- Willingness to work in dynamic environment and under pressure
- Proficiency in technology and systems development
- Organized, proactive, multi-tasking, detail-oriented
- Self-sufficient
- Willingness to groom and develop Mumbai team
