Job Summary
ASE Technician role in South Portland, ME focusing on diagnosing automotive systems, repairing and maintaining vehicles per ASE certifications (A1–A8) and quality standards. Responsibilities include generating and managing Service Work Orders, performing MPI, ensuring safety, accurate parts handling, and customer engagement. Requires ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5) and a State Inspection License, plus related experience or a two-year college/technical program. Works a standard 5-day, 40-hour week in a non-exempt, hourly role with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and continuous training.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations
- Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems
