Job Summary
ASE Technician will diagnose and repair automotive systems across ASE-covered areas (engine, transmission, drive train, suspension, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and engine performance) and perform related services in a shop environment. Responsibilities include ensuring service work orders are initiated and visible, completing mandated inspections and safety procedures, maintaining parts flow and proper returns, achieving required productivity, and upholding VIP quality service standards. The role requires effective communication with customers and team members, adherence to safety and regulatory policies, ongoing training to maintain and advance ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5; possibly all eight A-series for Master Technician), and the ability to perform automotive services listed in the qualifications. The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and delivering a high-quality first-time repair experience, with standard workweek and hourly compensation and the expectation of ongoing certification maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations
- Effectively explain vehicle information to customers, present and respond to questions from coworkers
- Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems
- Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to successfully perform required types of automotive services listed above
