Job Summary
ASE Technician responsible for diagnosing automotive systems and performing repairs/maintenance across ASE domains (A1–A8) while adhering to safety protocols and VIP processes. Duties include ensuring Service Work Orders are created and visible, completing MPIs, maintaining a 16-week productivity average (80-100%), staying current with ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5, and others per position), and complying with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Requires the ability to communicate technical information to customers, diagnose basic automotive problems, and perform the listed automotive services. Standard workweek is 5 days and 40 hours; non-exempt/hourly position; state-licensed vehicle inspection and BATS/TPMS certifications are referenced, with a progression toward ASE master certification based on role. Outcome measures include minimizing callbacks and ensuring work is done right the first time.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
