Job Summary
ASDC Western Regional Director serves as primary contact for State Party Chairs, Vice Chairs, and Executive Directors within the Western region, coordinating campaigns, operations, fundraising, communications, training, and program initiatives; leads regional communications, planning meetings, travel coordination, and collaboration with DNC departments to support State Parties, including routing requests for surrogates and statewide engagements; requires strong leadership, strategic planning, relationship-building, and the ability to travel within the region to support state party activities and events.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of working at the state and/or national level in a campaign or state party
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships
- Clear, effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Exceptional judgement, political and practical
- Demonstrated ability to navigate conflict and work toward resolution
- Extensive experience developing and leveraging political relationships
- Deep knowledge of and experience with organizing
- Collaborative and empowering leadership and management style
- Familiarity with elements of a successful statewide campaign
- Ability to work within a team and with multiple stakeholders
- Solutions-oriented approach; initiative; creative, innovative thinking; energy, enthusiasm, and resilience
- Regional Directors cannot hold leadership positions within their state parties or the national party
