Job Summary
ASD Special Education teacher for preschool/kindergarten at Lincoln Park Public Schools. Responsibilities include assessing, teaching, and modifying instruction and curricula for students; adapting and modifying general education curricula and learning environments; aligning and adapting the student's program with the general education curriculum; developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized behavior management strategies and plans with behavior plans; using curriculum guides to identify functional goals; employing assessment instruments, intervention methodologies, and appropriate techniques; completing records in a timely manner; managing MET, IEP, and other compliance requirements; communicating with school and community members; meeting physical and mental demands of the teaching profession; and collaborating with supervisors and building principal. Requires Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification with ZA/ZS and Autism SV endorsement, and experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
- Appropriate Special Education Endorsement and ZA (early childhood) OR (ZS) certification
- Autism Spectrum Disorder SV
- Experience with Special Education population required
- Center based experience preferred
- Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
- Other requirements as determined by the Lincoln Park Board of Education
