Job Summary
Conduct clinical work involving screening, identification, assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, rehabilitation, and prevention of communication disorders for pre-school children. Develop education sessions for parents and community partners while collaborating with agencies and public health organizations. Train, orientate, and supervise Speech Therapy Assistants as required. Work independently to prioritize assignments, manage time effectively, and communicate with teams and families. Prepare, set up, and clean materials and equipment; travel throughout the Anglophone East School District communities. Carry large or heavy equipment and work at children's levels, including floor time and group facilitation. Maintain certifications and utilize Microsoft Office tools.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from a recognized university
- Registered and a member in good standing with the Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of New Brunswick
- eligible for membership with Speech-Language and Audiology Canada
- A valid class 5 driver's license issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- own use of transportation
- willing and able to facilitate groups of adults and pre-school children
- ability to prioritize work assignments based on the needs of the team
- ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, email, PowerPoint, Publisher, social media, etc.)
- Keep up to date on certifications and professional learning as required
- Travel to various communities within the district
- Carry large or heavy materials and equipment (across parking lots, in buildings and upstairs)
- Sit at the children's level and be able to get down on the floor
- Work a flexible schedule (to better serve our clients, working in the evenings or weekends is sometimes required)
