Job Summary
Conduct circulating operating room nursing duties in a surgery center, managing patient care from pre-op to post-op with IV skills and sound clinical judgment. Assess patient needs, communicate effectively with physicians and staff, and maintain accurate medical records. Monitor stock levels, report equipment needs, and assist in orienting new employees while adhering to all health and safety standards. Requires current RN license, BCLS, and two years of OR experience.
Required Qualifications
- Current State R.N. license
- BCLS
- IV skills
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Working knowledge and experience in hospital operating room or ambulatory surgery center nursing care
- Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately
- Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized and cost effective manner
- Ability to make sound nursing judgement based on nursing theory
- Above average ability to plan and implement patient care
- Ability to assess needs and levels of satisfaction with surgery center services
- Effective communication skills: oral and written
- Above average organizational skills
- Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and courteous manner
- Assumes responsibility for competency and takes initiative for professional development and continuing education
- Medical records documentation is legible, concise and accurate
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS/PALS
- Two (2) years' experience as a circulating operating room nurse
