ASC Registered Nurse - Phone

The ASC Phone RN conducts pre-admission telephonic health assessments, reviewing current health status, health history, medications, and allergies to determine ASC admission suitability. They interview and assess patients to ensure adherence to ASC admission guidelines, identify risks for upcoming procedures, and collaborate with anesthesia and the patient’s medical team. Responsibilities include documenting in SIS and EHR, performing pre-admission teaching for patients and caregivers, answering questions about upcoming surgeries, coordinating patient arrival times, and conducting post-operative follow-up calls to identify potential complications. The role requires multitasking, professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to policies and codes of conduct, with ongoing participation in department meetings and required in-services. Strong written and verbal communication, clinical knowledge, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential.
