Job Summary
Greet patients, instruct them on attire changes, and complete pre-operative assessments and orders. Monitor patients during Phase I and II recovery, administer medications, and transfer patients between phases per protocol. Assist with discharge preparation, provide home instructions, and complete necessary chart forms. Maintain facility order, restock supplies, and verify crash carts and defibrillators are functional daily. Perform post-operative phone calls and comply with incident reporting policies. Requires Illinois RN licensure, PALS and ACLS certifications, and 3-5 years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois
- PALS certification per American Heart Association guidelines
- ACLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines
- Must have the ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment
- Must be able to adjust to various personalities and situations
- Must maintain professional behavior
- Must possess manual dexterity to handle equipment and appliances
- Must be capable of stooping, bending and lifting
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
- Must appear well groomed
- Conditions include exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue and contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials
