ASC Patient Access Representative - Billing & Surgical Scheduling

Job Summary

Greet and assist patients and visitors in person and by telephone while registering new patients and updating demographics. Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations for office visits and surgical services. Collect co-payments, deductibles, and outstanding balances in accordance with established policies. Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and imaging services in collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia staff. Communicate pre-operative instructions, scheduling details, and financial expectations to patients. Manage schedule changes, cancellations, and reschedules while ensuring accurate documentation. Facilitate patient flow by communicating arrivals and updates to clinical teams. Support medical billing by completing charge entry and generating daily batch transmittal reports. Scan, index, and maintain referrals, authorizations, operative reports, and consents within the electronic medical record. Act as a resource for patient services staff on complex issues. Maintain accurate, confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA. Full-time position in Warminster, PA.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting

  • Experience with medical billing processes
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows
  • Familiarity with HMO plans
  • Familiarity with PPO plans
  • Familiarity with HSA plans
  • Familiarity with Commercial plans
  • Familiarity with Medicare plans
  • Ability to navigate electronic medical records
  • Ability to navigate online insurance portals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with standard office technology
  • Strong organizational skills
