Job Summary
Per Diem ASC Operating Room Registered Nurse responsible for delivering high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room, including pre-operative assessments, intraoperative and post-operative patient care (egg retrievals, hysteroscopies, embryo transfers), maintaining sterile technique and infection control, documenting in the EMR with accuracy, providing post-operative education, supporting patient safety and accreditation initiatives, maintaining OR supply inventory, and participating in training for new nursing staff. The role requires collaboration with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical support teams, and emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- 1 year of recent experience in an operating room, PACU, or ambulatory surgery center setting, preferred
- Current AHA, BLS, and ACLS certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Strong understanding of perioperative nursing principles, sterile technique, and patient safety protocols
- Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Comfort working in a fast-paced and high-acuity surgical environment
- Experience using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
